Leven Rambin Discusses Hollywood Struggles in Viral TikTok

Leven Rambin, known for her role as Glimmer in "The Hunger Games," has opened up about her feelings of disillusionment with the acting industry in a candid TikTok video. Rambin expressed a sense of profound sadness, stating that her childhood dream of acting has either faded or not materialized as she had hoped.

"I do have a profound sadness — this dream I had as a little girl I outgrew or just didn't work out or is fading away," Rambin said in the video, recorded while she was lying in bed. She elaborated that her "sass and frustration masks a deep grief that it's just not what I thought it would be at this point."

The 36-year-old actress explained that she feels the need to reevaluate her life and be willing to let go of certain aspirations. "It's really hard to face that or experience that. It's very scary," she added. Rambin stated that she would prefer to grieve the career she envisioned rather than endure the ongoing pain of feeling "unvalued, unwanted, unchosen and scared."

However, Rambin clarified that she is not necessarily quitting acting, humorously noting, "But no, I’m not quitting acting. At least not today. Ask me again next week." She suggested that her public displays of emotion are part of a mid-30s existential crisis and that her dry humor sometimes blurs the line between satire and sincerity.

Fans responded to her video with support, with one commenter noting that actors struggling to make ends meet might not consider her extensive resume a failure. Rambin acknowledged this sentiment, replying, "I respect that. To me it’s a failure bc it didn’t go the way I planned and now I’m done."

Rambin's acting credits include roles in "The Hunger Games" (2012), "Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters," "Grey's Anatomy," "True Detective," "One Tree Hill," and "Fire Country."

In July, Rambin announced her departure from "Fire Country" after its fourth season to focus on starting a family. That same month, she revealed a near-fatal surgical complication related to endometriosis and fertility, during which a surgeon accidentally nicked her aorta. Rambin, who married photographer Dawson Smith in July 2025, described the incident as leading to a lengthy recovery.
