Leslie Jones Details Weight Loss Journey at 59
The "Saturday Night Live" alum shared her progress on Instagram, emphasizing the importance of muscle for those over 40.
Leslie Jones, 59, has revealed her significant weight loss transformation, sharing gym snapshots on Instagram that highlight her slimmer and more toned physique.
Jones, a former athlete who competed in track and played basketball on scholarship at Colorado State University, described her "body journey" as "crazy." She noted the necessity of focusing on muscles after the age of 40, a principle she attributes to her trainer and former physical therapist, Ronnie Czar. Czar, who works at the Fulhaus Club gym, specializes in training individuals over 40 to maintain mobility throughout their lives.
Jones previously featured in a satirical promotional video for the Fulhaus Club in March, praising its "real results" and trainers who "know exactly what they're doing."
Her decision to focus on weight loss began in 2016 when healthcare professionals advised her to lose 40 pounds. At the time, she told "Live With Kelly," that eliminating soda and juice was her first step, resulting in a 20-pound loss. Her subsequent efforts included yoga, attempts to manage her diet, and a consistent exercise regimen that incorporated six-mile runs, weight training, and leg lifts.
In an April interview with YouTuber Ziwe, Jones drew criticism for comparing marriage to "legal slavery" while rejecting the idea of becoming a "tradwife."
