Leonna Mayor, a former jockey and ITV presenter, has confirmed she is raising her son, Teddy, alone after her relationship with rugby player Stuart Hogg ended. The split occurred approximately 11 months after their child's birth.

Hogg, the former Scotland rugby captain, was spared jail in January after pleading guilty to domestic abuse against his estranged wife. He received a Community Payback Order and one year of supervision. He admitted to a five-year pattern of abusive behavior, including shouting, swearing, tracking his ex-wife's movements, and sending distressing messages.

Mayor confirmed their separation in January, noting that Hogg did not attend their son's birth, stating, "We'll just say it's just me and Teddy." Hogg has not appeared on Mayor's Instagram since March 2025.

In a recent interview with Racing Post, Mayor stated, "It's not what I wanted, and it's not a choice I made, but it's what happened. I didn't want to be a single parent and it's not what I want for my son." She expressed a desire for a happy family unit but acknowledged that their situation was not that. Mayor added that she would rather have two parents who are content in their own lives and expressed gratitude for the support from her mother, stepfather, and Teddy's grandparents.

The couple publicly announced their relationship in November 2023, which drew controversy due to its timing, emerging shortly after Hogg welcomed his fourth child with his then-wife. Mayor faced significant backlash on social media following this announcement.

Reflecting on the criticism, Mayor admitted she "probably handled it badly" and wished she had ignored some social media responses. She explained that she felt compelled to defend those she loved, but also recognized the need to protect her media career and image, as it appeared she was defending someone in the wrong.

Friends had cautioned Mayor about the potential impact on her career in television and racing punditry. Despite these concerns, she stated her focus remained on people who cared about her.

Mayor is preparing for a return to horse riding at a charity event in Nottingham on October 28. The event is an Autism in Racing fundraiser, and it marks her return to the saddle more than 13 years after retiring as a professional jockey. She is balancing this comeback with her current work for ITV Racing, Sky, and William Hill, alongside raising her son and managing her own horse and dog.
