Leo Olsson Named Blue Peter's 45th Presenter

Blue Peter has announced Leo Olsson, a 23-year-old filmmaker and content creator, as the show's 45th presenter. Olsson, known for his popular 'world's longest bucket list' project on TikTok, will make his debut on Friday, November 20. His first on-air challenge will involve a formation skydive from 4,000 feet to earn his Blue Peter badge.

Olsson, who has amassed a significant following on social media with millions of likes and hundreds of thousands of followers, documents ambitious personal challenges. His content aims to inspire audiences to explore their own capabilities, covering activities ranging from learning musical instruments to building surfboards and undertaking global experiences.

"There’s no other show in the world like Blue Peter, it’s all about adventure and not being afraid to try new things," Olsson stated. "Where else would you find a presenter trying to cross the Irish Sea in a Zorb ball, or walk a tightrope between the chimneys of Battersea Power Station?" He added, "Growing up all of my role models were the people I watched online and on television, so now I want to show kids that you can go out and do whatever you want to do, take on a challenge, big or small! It's a privilege to join a programme with such an incredible legacy, and I can't wait to meet the audience, take on new challenges, and go on some unforgettable adventures together."

Sarah Muller, the BBC's Senior Head of Children’s Commissioning, commented, "Leo is a natural storyteller whose creativity, positivity and sense of adventure make him a perfect fit for Blue Peter. His determination, passion for adventure and inspiring others reflects everything the programme stands for, and we're excited to welcome him to the team."

Olsson joins the program as it celebrates its first year since relocating to a new studio in Manchester in September 2025. The relaunch era initially featured young presenters Joel Mawhinney, Shini Muthukrishnan, and Abby Cook, all of whom also have substantial social media followings. Mawhinney, who joined in 2022, left the show earlier this year after four years. Muthukrishnan and Cook remain with the program.
