Lenny Kravitz has offered a pragmatic explanation for his distinctive workout attire, which often includes leather pants. The musician, who covers the latest issue of Men's Health magazine, stated that he wears the same clothing to the gym that he wears on stage.

"I perform onstage in leather, denim, whatever, so those are the pants I wear to train," Kravitz explained. He added that this choice allows him to "fit in a workout anytime, anywhere."

Kravitz also uses his clothing to monitor his fitness. He shared that he wears a size 28-inch pant and can tell if he is out of shape by how they fit. "My friend Denzel Washington gave me this phrase: ‘The pants don’t lie, the pants don’t lie,’" he said.

In 2024, Kravitz shared a video on Instagram of himself working out in leather pants and boots, which garnered significant attention from fans who expressed amusement and admiration for his consistent style. In a past interview with Variety, he elaborated that he typically works out in leather or denim and boots if he is not doing cardio. For cardio, he opts for sweatpants to accommodate the increased sweating. However, he noted that he doesn't sweat as much when lifting weights.

Ironically, for his Men's Health cover shoot, Kravitz is pictured wearing sweatpants and a mesh tank top.
