LeBron James Denies Report of Confronting Joel Embiid Over Practice Tardiness
The Lakers star called a report claiming he admonished Joel Embiid for being late to a 76ers practice 'lies' via Instagram.
LeBron James has publicly denied a report that he confronted his new Philadelphia 76ers teammate Joel Embiid for arriving late to a recent team practice. The four-time NBA champion addressed the claim on his Instagram Story, labeling the report as untrue.
During the broadcast of Monday's preseason game between the New York Knicks and the 76ers on MSG Network, broadcaster Mike Breen relayed a story he had heard. "I had somebody tell me before the game that they were out ready to practice, and Joel Embiid walked out onto the court a couple of minutes late, and LeBron let him hear it," Breen stated.
Following Breen's comment, James shared a graphic of the purported incident on his Instagram Story, accompanying it with a 'cap' emoji and the text, "He ain’t been late so stop the lies."
James joined the 76ers this offseason, marking his first season with the Philadelphia franchise. Prior to this, James and Embiid were teammates on the United States men's basketball team at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. No further details regarding the alleged practice encounter were immediately available.
