Leaked Deposition Video Shows GOP Congressman Max Miller in Vulgar Outburst
Footage from a divorce deposition, released as the Trump-backed Ohio Republican faces a tight re-election race, includes alleged crude remarks about his wife and her attorneys.
Leaked video footage from a deposition shows U.S. Rep. Max Miller, a Republican congressman from Ohio, making vulgar comments and exhibiting aggressive behavior. The video, obtained by the Daily Mail, emerged as Miller faces a contentious re-election campaign and continues to be a vocal supporter of former President Donald Trump.
In the deposition related to his divorce proceedings, Miller is heard making alleged crude remarks about his wife, Emily Moreno. In one instance, he is quoted as saying that watching Moreno give birth to their daughter was "like watching the playground get set on fire." Miller denied this claim, asserting that the remark was made by a nurse.
The video also captures Miller's alleged response to a crude comment made by one of Moreno's attorneys. Miller stated that one of Moreno's lawyers had said his new girlfriend was "good at sucking c***." The deposition reportedly ended abruptly when Miller's attorney instructed him not to answer questions about an alleged incident involving pushing someone down the stairs in high school.
Moreno has accused Miller of domestic abuse, including hurling scalding water at her and holding a gun to her head during their marriage. She has also alleged he hit her during a custody exchange. Miller has denied these allegations.
The couple married in 2022 at Trump's Bedminster club. Miller filed for divorce on their second wedding anniversary in August 2024, two months after Moreno claims the scalding water incident occurred. Miller and Moreno are currently engaged in a custody battle over their two-year-old daughter.
Miller, who has served in the House since January 2023, was endorsed by Trump. The race for his seat in Ohio's 13th congressional district has become increasingly competitive, shifting from a solid Republican outlook to a toss-up. Trump has previously defended Miller, calling him "a good person" while declining to comment on the allegations.
