House Speaker Mike Johnson and Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, along with other elected officials, have denounced the antisemitic rhetoric used by Florida congressional candidate Dan Bilzerian. Bilzerian, who is challenging Republican Rep. Randy Fine in Florida's 6th Congressional District, has escalated his campaign with a series of antisemitic ads and statements.

Johnson stated on X, formerly Twitter, that the "vile attack ads against Congressman Randy Fine in Florida's 6th District are disgusting and should be condemned by all political leaders on the Right and Left. Antisemitism and outward hatred of Jewish communities have no place in our politics or in America, and we will continue to call them out wherever they arise."

Jeffries described Bilzerian's campaign as "blatantly antisemitic and shocks the conscience."

Republican Rep. Don Bacon and GOP Sen. Ted Cruz also expressed their disapproval of Bilzerian's remarks. U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee called the rhetoric "possibly the most disgusting political thread I've seen."

Bilzerian, an influencer, podcaster, and businessman, has previously used provocative language, but has recently intensified his antisemitic postings, including references to Adolf Hitler and common antisemitic tropes. According to his campaign website, Bilzerian advocates for ending all foreign aid, including to Israel, and promotes the antisemitic claim that Jewish special interest groups are manipulating the country's direction.

Fine, who won a special election last year, has himself faced criticism for past remarks about Muslims and Palestinians. In February, Fine posted on X, "If they force us to choose, the choice between dogs and Muslims is not a difficult one." He stated this was in response to a comment by Palestinian activist Nerdeen Kiswani regarding pet waste policies in New York City. Fine did not apologize for his remark.

Last July, Fine referred to Somali American Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar as a "Muslim terrorist" after Omar had called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a "war criminal."
