Layla Taylor and Kelsie Chesser Make Red Carpet Debut at VRT Awards

Layla Taylor, known for her role on "Secret Lives of Mormon Wives," and her girlfriend, Kelsie Chesser, made their first public appearance as a couple at the "Virtual Reali-Tea" Awards 2026 in New York City on Tuesday.

The couple was photographed arm-in-arm on the red carpet. Taylor wore an asymmetrical floral corset dress with a pleated skirt and light blue strappy heels, while Chesser opted for a navy blue suit and black shoes, accessorized with a simple gold necklace.

Taylor, 25, publicly came out as bisexual in June, announcing that she was dating a woman, though she did not initially reveal Chesser's identity. In an interview on Jay Shetty’s “On Purpose” podcast at the time, Taylor stated, “I’m gay and I’m bi and date women and men.” She described the woman she was dating as "emotionally aware" and "very patient," noting that this individual had caught her attention after liking an Instagram photo.

In the months following her announcement, Taylor shared glimpses of her new relationship. In July, she posted a clip on social media showing her and her girlfriend holding hands, with only the tattooed arms of her partner visible. Taylor captioned the post, “‘You’re glowing lately.’ Thanks I’m dating a woman now,” and added, “Chivalry isn’t dead it’s [with] the lesbians.”

Later in July, Chesser confirmed her identity as Taylor's girlfriend through a TikTok video. She captioned the video, which featured her singing along to Beyoncé’s “Partition,” “When I slid into my girlfriend’s DMs just hoping she was into girls.” Taylor responded in the comments section of the video, confirming their relationship by writing, “Folded.”

Taylor, who is a mother to two sons from her previous marriage to Clayton Wessel, gained fame on the reality television show "Secret Lives of Mormon Wives." She was married to Wessel from 2020 to 2025.
