Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor was present at MetLife Stadium on Sunday to witness rookie linebacker Arvell Reese's latest performance as the New York Giants secured a 36-24 victory over the Arizona Cardinals.

Reese, a first-round draft pick, recorded his first career interception, nine solo tackles, a tackle for loss, a quarterback hit, and three passes defensed in the game. Despite his contributions, the rookie expressed that he has higher personal standards.

"A bunch of plays I left out there," Reese said after the game. "The game has begun to slow down for me. It has enabled me to just play off instincts rather than overthinking. The results are telling. It’s only motivating me to get better."

Taylor, considered by many to be the greatest defensive player in Giants history, was honored at halftime along with the 1986 Giants team. Reese acknowledged the significance of Taylor's presence.

"Oh man, that means a lot, bro," Reese said. "With a guy like that in the building, him setting the standard for how that position is supposed to be played back in the day. It definitely means a lot to play a decent game like that."

Taylor also commented on Reese's performance. "He is playing great," Taylor said. "I think he’s a good player."

Reese, who was the fifth overall pick in the draft out of Ohio State, has been a notable contributor in recent weeks. He recorded 13 tackles in the previous week's win against the Titans. Reese is aiming for a dominant, game-changing presence on the field but believes he has not yet reached his full potential.

"A game-changer, dominant player, that’s what I’m chasing," Reese stated regarding his personal goals.

The Giants' victory improved their record to 3-1 on the season.
