Former child star Lauri Hendler, best known for her role on the 1980s sitcom "Gimme a Break!," was recently photographed on a rare outing in Los Angeles. Hendler, 61, appeared in a pale blue denim dress with a long-sleeved pink shirt while accompanied by her husband, Steven Reizes. The couple married in 1990.

Hendler gained recognition in 1981 for her role as Julie Kanisky Maxwell in the NBC sitcom "Gimme a Break!," which ran for six seasons until 1987. She starred as the middle daughter of Police Chief Carl "Chief" Kanisky, played by Dolph Sweet. The series, led by Nell Carter, centered on a former singer who becomes the housekeeper to the Chief's family. Hendler's character was written out of the show's final season.

During her time on "Gimme a Break!," Hendler also appeared in the 1983 TV movie "High School USA" alongside Michael J. Fox and participated in several game shows throughout the decade, including "$25,000 Pyramid" and "Super Password."
