Lauren Silverman Rebuilds Relationship with Ex-Husband Andrew After Affair with Simon Cowell

Lauren Silverman, 49, shared her 'proud and grateful' sentiments regarding the rebuilt relationship with her ex-husband, businessman Andrew Silverman, 51. The two spent time together with their son Adam during his parents' weekend at the University of Miami. This comes more than a decade after their marriage dissolved in 2013, following Silverman's affair with Simon Cowell, her husband's friend.

Adam, 20, is in his third year at the University of Miami. Lauren, who now resides in London with Cowell and their 12-year-old son Eric, travels to Miami to visit her eldest son. The recent parents' weekend included family dinners, football, beach walks, and a fraternity party, which Silverman described as a glimpse into her own university days.

"One of the things I felt especially grateful for was being together with Adam’s dad, his wife and their children," Silverman stated. "Families evolve in all sorts of ways, and I’m really proud of the relationship we’ve all built and how far we’ve come."

She also expressed pride in Adam's academic focus, noting that he uses a "Brick" phone to block distracting apps and concentrate on his studies, a development that pleased her as an advocate for online safety for children.

Silverman has previously described the period following her affair with Cowell and subsequent pregnancy with Eric as one of the most challenging times of her life. In an interview on Giovanna Fletcher's podcast, 'Happy Mum,' she recalled the intense public scrutiny and the end of her marriage.

"It was one of the hardest times of my life and it was just, the way that people would look at me," Silverman said. "I was on the cover of every magazine and there were news stories about it because... Simon being Simon... and it was just awful."

In 2013, Cowell acknowledged the impact of the affair, stating, "I let down a friend and I feel bad about that." Andrew Silverman also described the ordeal as a difficult period but noted he had "learned a lot" and that his primary focus remained on his son.

Andrew Silverman filed for divorce in 2013, citing adultery. Lauren and Cowell's relationship, which reportedly began while Cowell was vacationing with the Silvermans in Barbados, led to the birth of their son Eric in February 2014. Lauren, who now sometimes goes by Lauren Cowell, has emphasized the importance of family and her focus on her son throughout the public attention surrounding her personal life.
