Lauren Graham Opts for Peppermint Mocha Over Pumpkin Spice This Fall
The 'Gilmore Girls' star revealed her preferred autumnal coffee order, deviating from the seasonal pumpkin spice trend.
As autumn arrives and seasonal coffee drinks return, actress Lauren Graham has shared her go-to fall beverage, which does not include pumpkin spice. Graham, known for her role as Lorelai Gilmore in "Gilmore Girls," told Parade in September that while she experiences a greater craving for sweet coffee drinks in the fall, her preference leans away from pumpkin and warm spices.
Instead, Graham favors a chocolate mint combination, specifically a peppermint mocha. Starbucks released its peppermint mocha, a holiday menu item, on November 6 last year. This aligns with a broader trend of consumers embracing seasonal products earlier than in previous years, with both Starbucks and Dunkin’ launching their pumpkin spice lattes in August this year.
The pumpkin spice latte, or PSL, has become a significant fall beverage since its 2003 debut. NBC News reported that Starbucks has sold hundreds of millions of PSLs since the drink's introduction. For those who prefer a minty chocolate flavor over pumpkin spice, many Starbucks locations reportedly keep peppermint syrup and mocha sauce available year-round, allowing customers to order the drink outside of the holiday season. However, one user noted that the chocolate curls, often a seasonal topping, are not always available.
Beyond her iconic role in "Gilmore Girls," Graham has also appeared in "Parenthood" and the film "Reminders of Him." She is also a New York Times bestselling author with titles including "In Conclusion, Don’t Worry About It," "Talking as Fast as I Can," and "Someday, Someday, Maybe."
