Lauren Cowell Marks Fiancé Simon's 67th Birthday with Public Tribute

Lauren Cowell, 49, celebrated her fiancé Simon's 67th birthday on Wednesday with a public tribute on Instagram, sharing a collection of personal photos and a message reflecting on their nearly 15 years as a couple.

"Happy Birthday to my love," Cowell captioned the post, which included images of the couple kissing, Simon with their dogs, and family pictures with their son Eric, 12, and her elder son Adam, 20. "Nearly 15 years together and you still manage to surprise me, make me laugh and keep life anything but predictable (and that might be the understatement of the century)."

She added, "Through all of life’s ups, downs and everything in between, there is so much to be grateful for. But nothing makes me happier than watching you and Eric together. Here’s to another trip around the sun, more adventures, more laughter, and most importantly, good health, happiness and all the things that really matter. We all love you so much."

The socialite's post comes after she previously spoke about feeling "embarrassed and ashamed" by the public reaction to her affair with Simon, which began while she was still married to her ex-husband Andrew Silverman. Cowell became pregnant with their son Eric in 2013, leading Silverman to file for divorce citing adultery.

Cowell, who now uses the name Lauren Cowell, told The Sun's Fabulous Magazine that for a long time, she felt defined by the scandal. "I felt ashamed and embarrassed, like I had a scarlet letter on my chest," she said. "I get why people had that opinion of me. I would feel exactly the same way if I was looking in as an outsider. I'm not trying to evade accountability or say that what I did was correct, but I'm human, and it happened."

She has since shared that she has undergone therapy and has worked to rebuild her relationships, including a co-parenting dynamic with her ex-husband. Last month, Cowell shared photos from "Parents Weekend" at their eldest son Adam's college in Miami, where she attended with Adam's father, his wife, and their children. "Families evolve in all sorts of ways, and I’m really proud of the relationship we’ve all built and how far we’ve come," she wrote.

Adam is a third-year student at the University of Miami. Cowell, whose parents and sister also live in Miami, expressed gratitude for the weekend, noting Adam's focus on his studies, which includes using a "Brick for his phone" to block distracting apps. "This online-safety mum very happy," she commented.

Cowell and Simon, a business mogul, have indicated plans to marry in the future. Their relationship began under a cloud of public scrutiny, with Simon himself acknowledging in 2013 that he had "let down a friend" but was grateful for the impending birth of his child. Andrew Silverman described the period as "a very difficult time in my life" but also a learning experience, emphasizing his focus on his son throughout the ordeal.
