Laura Anderson Finds 'Family' With Ex-Partner's Ex-Wife and Children

Laura Anderson, a former star of the reality show Love Island, has found the "family" she always desired through a unique bond with Natasha, the ex-wife of her daughter's father, Gary Lucy, and Natasha's four children.

Anderson, 37, discussed this unconventional family structure during an appearance on the CBeebies Parenting Download podcast. She recounted a recent holiday to Turkey with her daughter Bonnie, aged three, and Natasha, emphasizing the positive interactions between Bonnie and her half-siblings.

"It was incredible to see my daughter with her half-siblings, because I don't really want her to be an only child," Anderson stated. "They got on so well and they're so alike."

She added that "everyone was saying 'oh my god you're doing something amazing for the kids'. We genuinely get on."

Anderson expressed that the experience of seeing Bonnie loved by her half-siblings brought her a sense of fulfillment. "I, as I said before, really have always just wanted to have a family and I've got Bonnie," she said. "But going on this holiday just almost gave me everything I wanted in a weird way. Even though, you know, it was two mums together and her four kids. It was almost like I wanted to see and feel Bonnie be loved and that made me feel loved."

Anderson and Gary Lucy, an actor known for his role in Hollyoaks, were together when Anderson became pregnant with Bonnie in early 2023. The couple separated during the pregnancy. They briefly attempted reconciliation before Bonnie's birth but ultimately parted ways permanently, engaging in public disagreements since.

Lucy and Natasha divorced in 2018 after 14 years of marriage. They share two sons and two daughters.

Anderson indicated that she and Natasha are planning another holiday together next year. The sentiment has been met with positive reactions from fans, with comments on social media praising Anderson for prioritizing Bonnie and celebrating diverse family structures.

Anderson has previously spoken out about difficulties with co-parenting and financial support from Lucy, claiming she missed out on work and time with Bonnie due to the lack of these elements. Lucy, in turn, has indirectly responded through social media posts, alluding to control and exploitation within co-parenting dynamics.
