A reported increase in late-night visitors at the shared accommodation for "The Block" contestants has led to friction among cast members, with some expressing frustration over the disruptions.
Sources indicate that Tayla, a 32-year-old contestant from House 5, frequently invited guests back to the property. While the show does not strictly prohibit visitors during filming, her social activities reportedly became a point of contention as some of her co-stars preferred to use the accommodation solely for rest after long workdays.
"Tayla is social, outgoing and likes to enjoy herself, but not everyone enjoyed it as much as she did," an insider told New Idea magazine. "Other contestants occasionally had family members or close friends visit, but generally speaking, they kept to themselves as they were keen to rest after a hard day's work."
The situation allegedly became particularly difficult when visitors arrived late or noise continued into the night, leaving contestants tired and unprepared for subsequent demanding days on set. "It started to feel like a genuine share house. People were being kept awake, wondering who had been invited over and quietly complaining to one another the next day," the insider added.
According to the source, Tayla was unaware of her co-stars' discontent. "She was having fun and living her life, but the others felt that there needed to be some boundaries," the insider stated.
The alleged tension also placed Tayla's father and teammate, Rick, 63, in an uncomfortable position, with reports suggesting he was uneasy about the attention surrounding his daughter. Despite the reported friction, fellow contestants are said to have avoided direct confrontation with Tayla, seeking to avoid adding to the already intense pressure of the renovation competition.
This is not the first controversy for Tayla this season, as she has also faced scrutiny over her approach to the competition, with reports suggesting she is set to make bold decisions while her father is away.
