Shay Martin, widow of the late influencer Tanner Martin, has announced her remarriage approximately one year after his passing. Tanner Martin gained viral fame documenting his five-year battle with colorectal cancer and died in June 2025, just over a month after the birth of their daughter, AmyLou.

In a post shared on their joint Instagram account, Shay revealed she has found new love, accompanied by a video montage featuring memories with Tanner and recent clips with her new partner. She explained that Tanner's "greatest hopes" included her finding someone who would love AmyLou as their own and honor the life they built together. "I am incredibly grateful to say that I found that person," she wrote.

Shay emphasized that her new husband "has never asked her to leave Tanner behind." She stated he honors her memory of Tanner, celebrates their past love, and loves AmyLou in a way Tanner would have wanted. "Moving forward is not the same as moving on," she clarified, explaining that while she once believed she would remain alone, she realized "there is enough love to give" and one "will never graduate from grief."

She added that Tanner's family supported her as she found joy and love again. Regarding their shared Instagram page, which was created to document their journey, educate about grief, and raise awareness for colon cancer, Shay stated it was not intended to be a "reality TV show." She plans to continue sharing her life on her own terms, focusing on the kindness, hope, and good intentions that characterized Tanner's legacy. She noted that while "no one on the internet is entitled to every chapter of their story," she chooses to focus on the "extraordinary kindness, compassion and support" she has received.

Shay acknowledged that those who have not experienced the loss of a spouse may not fully understand her journey but expressed hope that they would allow widows and widowers to share their experiences. Tanner himself announced his death in a pre-recorded video shared on June 25, 2025, in which he expressed his enjoyment of life and excitement for what comes after death, including reuniting with loved ones.
