Fox Business host Larry Kudlow directly questioned Sen. Tommy Tuberville on Wednesday, criticizing the Republican party's perceived inaction on economic matters. Kudlow asserted that "socialists are winning" and that Republicans are "doing nothing" to address issues such as rising taxes.
"The polls are lousy. There’s an economic boom and no one seems to know about it," Kudlow stated, adding that data indicates people are spending more on taxes than on essential goods like food and clothing. He directly addressed Tuberville, saying, "The U.S. Republican Senate ain’t doing a thing about it."
Senator Tuberville acknowledged Kudlow's critique, agreeing that the party needs to present tangible solutions to the American public before the upcoming election. "We’re getting ready to go on recess. You know, we’re only in two weeks in September. We’re off the whole month of October. I’m with you. We need to give the American people something before the election, or it’s not gonna be good. And that’s gonna have to be reconciliation," Tuberville said.
Tuberville attributed some of the legislative stagnation to Democrats, but he also conceded that the Republican party must act more decisively. He admitted, "We’re not acting like we’re the majority." Tuberville suggested that the GOP must provide Americans with policies they can rally behind to maintain their congressional majority.
This is not the first time Kudlow has publicly criticized Republican leadership. Last month, he delivered a similar message to Sen. James Lankford (R-Okla.), telling him that "GOP leadership is letting everyone down" and that Republicans are "bungling everything, nothing is getting done, your messaging is nonexistent."
