Lara Trump, 43, has revealed the fitness routine and diet that she credits for her toned physique after recent social media posts showcasing her muscular arms and abs generated significant online attention, with some users questioning if the images were AI-generated.
During a July 21 appearance on The Riley Gaines Show, Trump discussed her approach to health and fitness, which she has prioritized throughout her life. She explained that she typically works out for 30 to 45 minutes daily, often in the early morning. "My goal is to get it in first thing in the morning, and then I don't have to think about it the rest of the day," she said.
Trump's exercise regimen is varied, encompassing activities such as Pilates, biking, weightlifting, and CrossFit. She also mentioned training for triathlons and suggested that keeping the body challenged is key to maintaining fitness. "I do a little bit of everything. I train for triathlons, I try to stay kind of ready in case something comes along, so I do a lot of biking," she stated. She also noted that she has reduced her running but still enjoys it when possible.
She emphasized the importance of incorporating strength training, stating, "The more protein you have and the more muscle you build, the more calories you burn just existing." She urged others to "get the protein in, lift some weights, because that's what's really going to change your body."
Regarding her diet, Trump acknowledged that maintaining healthy eating habits can be challenging due to frequent travel. She prioritizes protein intake and often starts her day with egg whites or a protein shake. "You have a very hard time when you're traveling and on the road to maintain some quality of eating, but I really try to prioritize protein," she said.
Beyond exercise and diet, Trump also shared her enthusiasm for wellness practices like saunas and cold plunging, which she enjoys with her husband, Eric Trump. She described cold plunging as a mental exercise, noting that enduring the discomfort of cold water can build resilience for other challenges. "If I can force myself to stay in cold water despite my body screaming at me to get out, I could probably force myself to do a lot of uncomfortable things," she remarked.
Trump launched her fitness apparel brand, the Lara Trump Collection, in November 2024, inspired by a desire to promote the idea that women can achieve anything. Her interview comes weeks after a June Instagram post, where her athletic physique drew considerable commentary, including comparisons to AI-generated images.
