LSU Tigers head coach Lane Kiffin took an unconventional route during his appearance at SEC Media Days, dedicating a portion of his time to discussing his recent social media hiatus, a Hulk Hogan documentary, and a humorous anecdote about his departure from Ole Miss.

Kiffin explained that his decision to step away from social media began when his son challenged him to do so. "I said 'yea I can, just watch'. So, I just got off everything, don't even have the apps," Kiffin stated. He described it as a personal challenge to demonstrate he could disconnect, adding that "when I look back, a lot of good things have come when I subtract things from my life."

When questioned about his previous remarks concerning diversity issues at Ole Miss impacting recruiting, Kiffin pivoted to a discussion about mortality, prompted by watching a Hulk Hogan documentary. "We're all going to die. And so some of the things that we put importance on, we worry about, and what this person says and that, really aren't going to matter," Kiffin reflected. He elaborated on how the documentary made him contemplate his own mortality and the relative insignificance of external opinions.

The coach also shared an amusing story related to his move from Ole Miss to LSU, involving a dispute over access to his former home's Ring security cameras. Kiffin recounted how he was able to track his successor, Pete Golding, at his old residence while his own LSU staff was observing Ole Miss's recruiting efforts. "He can't be wherever it was at this recruit's house," Kiffin recalled telling his staff. "He's on my couch, I just saw him walk in."

Kiffin's comments, particularly the unexpected references to Hulk Hogan and the Ring camera story, generated considerable attention, illustrating his tendency to deviate from standard press conference narratives. The upcoming game between LSU and Ole Miss on September 19 is anticipated to be a focal point of the college football season.
