A San Francisco landlord accused of fatally shooting his tenant is attempting to rent out the victim's home for $6,300 per month, according to reports. Philippe Chagniot, 68, faces murder charges for allegedly killing his tenant, 58-year-old Eric Bigone, in mid-May.

The incident occurred outside the victim's home at 2518 46th Avenue in San Francisco. Chagniot is accused of luring Bigone outside, where he allegedly sprayed surveillance cameras around the crime scene before starting a fire on Bigone's car. As Bigone dealt with the fire, Chagniot reportedly shot him twice from behind with a silenced Mac-10 firearm. The suspect was seen biking away from the scene following the shooting. He was subsequently arrested and charged with murder, and is being held without bail.

Legal Proceedings and Property Listing

Following the death, Dino Bigone, the victim's son, filed a wrongful death lawsuit. The lawsuit alleges that Chagniot murdered his father with the intent to clear the home for sale. While a judge prohibited the Chagniot family from selling the property, they were permitted to rent it out. The 1,200-square-foot home, which has three bedrooms and two bathrooms, is listed with features described as "beautiful hardwood floors, abundant natural light, and an updated interior." The listing initially sought $8,000 per month before being reduced.

The home is currently owned by the Chagniot 2007 Family Trust. One woman who toured the property reportedly became suspicious after learning it was owned by a family trust and seeing news reports about the killing. She expressed dismay, stating she was not looking for a rental where a death had occurred and that her money would presumably benefit the family of the accused.

A neighbor also voiced outrage over the situation. A GoFundMe campaign has been established to support Bigone's son and grandchildren, aiming to raise $65,000, with approximately $13,000 raised so far.
