LaMelo Ball's Partner Ana Montana Arrested on Felony Drug Charges

Analicia Chaves, the partner of Minnesota Timberwolves guard LaMelo Ball and a model known as Ana Montana, was arrested Monday in North Carolina on felony drug charges. Booking records obtained by TMZ indicate Chaves faces two felony counts of obtaining a controlled substance by fraud or forgery, and two misdemeanor counts of simple possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance. These charges reportedly date back to Feb. 21.

Chaves was held on a $20,000 bond in connection with the felony charges. According to the arrest warrant, authorities allege that Chaves obtained alprazolam, a generic form of Xanax, from a Walgreens pharmacy. The warrant claims she filled prescriptions issued under a doctor’s allegedly stolen DEA registration and medical provider ID.

Chaves' lawyer issued a statement to TMZ clarifying the situation, stating, "To clarify, the charges allege that a doctor who used a fraudulent DEA registration and NPI number prescribed Alprazolam for Ms. Chaves, and that she used the prescription written by the doctor to obtain the prescribed Alprazolam at a pharmacy."

The lawyer added, "The drug possession charges appear to allege that she possessed the aforementioned Alprazolam upon obtaining it from the pharmacy via the prescription written by the doctor."

The warrant for Chaves' arrest was issued on Sept. 22, with her apprehension occurring six days later. Chaves is also the founder of I Am Fertility, a nonprofit organization supporting women with fertility challenges.

Ball and Chaves, who have been linked since 2021, welcomed their son, LaOne, in January. Ball was recently traded to the Timberwolves from the Charlotte Hornets in June, after a six-season tenure that included an NBA All-Star selection and a Rookie of the Year award.
