Lakers Rookie Cameron Carr Fulfills Tradition by Hauling In-N-Out Burgers for Team Flight
Carr was tasked with providing 30 cheeseburgers for his teammates as the Lakers prepared for their preseason opener.
Lakers rookie Cameron Carr embraced a classic team tradition by transporting 30 In-N-Out cheeseburgers for his teammates' flight to Sacramento for the team's preseason opener against the Kings. The scene was captured and shared on social media by Jarred Vanderbilt and the Lakers' official team account.
"Rookie duties," Carr stated in a video accompanying the social media post. "Make sure the guys is fed. If they eat well, they play well." The Lakers' social media team captioned their post, "Rookie's first road trip? Had to get the squad right 😌."
Carr's mother, Tanya, confirmed her son's role in the team ritual, sharing on X (formerly Twitter) that she was on the phone with him as he placed the large order. "I was on the phone when he ordered 30 cheeseburgers in the drive thru….gotta feed his teamates! 🤣," she wrote.
The burger delivery marked one of the first public appearances for the rookie as the Lakers begin their five-game preseason slate, which commenced Monday night. This season also signals a new era for the team, following LeBron James' departure and a significant roster reconstruction over the summer.
