Laguna Beach Mansion Sells for $82.6 Million, Second Highest in Orange County History

A luxurious oceanfront mansion in Laguna Beach has sold for $82,569,990, making it the second-most expensive home sale ever recorded in Orange County. The property at 100 Rockledge Road, which spans 14,434 square feet and includes eight bedrooms and 15 bathrooms, closed on October 14.

The estate is situated on a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean and boasts over 2,000 square feet of oceanfront terraces. Additional amenities include a private amphitheater, a cinema, a wine cellar, a fitness studio, a sauna, a steam shower, and a rock waterfall feature.

A home theater with wooden walls, acoustic panels, a movie screen, and red reclining seats.

The property also offers direct beach access via private steps and includes a separate two-bedroom guest home with an ocean-view deck. For vehicles, there is an eight-car garage with a catering kitchen and a motor court capable of accommodating more than 20 cars.

A large, round bedroom featuring a custom circular bed, hardwood floors, a wooden domed ceiling with a fan, and panoramic ocean views through floor-to-ceiling windows.

The primary retreat is described as having a rotating oversized bed beneath an operable ceiling that opens to the stars, a spiral staircase with a glass floor leading to a private library, and panoramic ocean views.

The home was previously owned by auto tycoon David Wilson, who acquired the property in 2001 for approximately $16 million. Wilson reportedly invested nearly $20 million in renovations.

Wilson had initially listed the estate for $112 million in July, before its sale for $82.6 million in October. Orange County's record for a home sale stands at $110 million.
