LAFC Parts Ways With Head Coach Marc Dos Santos
The club announced the departure of Dos Santos, who was appointed in 2025, citing his contributions over the years.
Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) has announced it is parting ways with head coach Marc Dos Santos. The club released a statement on Friday, indicating that an update on interim coaching plans would be shared soon.
"Marc has given a great deal to this club over the years, and we are grateful for his commitment, care and contributions to LAFC," said John Thorrington, President of Soccer Operations. "We wish Marc and his family all the best moving forward."
Dos Santos was appointed head coach in 2025, having previously served as an assistant coach under Steve Cherundolo. His final match with the team was a 1-0 loss on the road to FC Dallas on Saturday.
LAFC currently sits in sixth place in the Western Conference with a record of 11 wins, 8 losses, and 9 draws, accumulating 41 points with six games remaining in the regular season. The team, which boasts a roster including Son Heung-Min and Denis Bouanga, has struggled in recent weeks, winning only two of its last 10 games and securing four draws during that span.
LAFC began the season strongly, winning 10 of their first 15 games, including a 3-0 victory against Inter Miami. However, the team's performance has declined since then.
Dos Santos is the third head coach in LAFC's history since the club joined Major League Soccer in 2018. The team achieved significant success early on, including winning the MLS Cup title in 2022 under Cherundolo.
The team's next match is scheduled for Saturday, October 10, at home against the Vancouver Whitecaps.
