Lady Violet Manners and her husband, William James Lindesay-Bethune, Viscount Garnock, have announced the birth of their first child, a son named John Reggie James Garnock. The announcement was made on Instagram on July 4, 2026.

Lady Violet, 32, shared the news, stating, "Our little boy John arrived safely into this world in the early hours of 4th July, 2026. Welcome to the world John Reggie James Garnock. It is a love like no other for both of us."

The couple had announced Lady Violet's pregnancy in March, nine months after their wedding at Belvoir Castle in Leicestershire. In a statement to Hello magazine at the time, they expressed their excitement: "We are thrilled to share that we are expecting our first child. We are so grateful and excited for all that's to come."

Baby John is the first grandchild for The Duke and Duchess of Rutland, David and Emma Manners. Lady Violet had previously shared that she and her husband had attended hypnobirthing classes, hoping for a natural and uncomplicated birth.

The couple had envisioned decorating their child's nursery with a gender-neutral color scheme and spending their child's early years on the outskirts of William's family estate, Lahill House in Fife.

William, 35, is the son and heir of the 16th Earl of Lindsay and is involved in the low and no alcohol spirits brand Feragaia. Lady Violet is the CEO of HeritageXplore, a platform for heritage site experiences.

The couple married in June of the previous year at St Mary the Virgin Church in Bottesford, Leicestershire. Lady Violet wore a Phillipa Lepley couture gown and the historical diamond Rutland tiara, a family heirloom worn publicly for the first time since the late 1990s. The groom wore a kilt made from the Lindsay family tartan. The wedding ceremony was followed by a reception at Belvoir Castle, the ancestral home of the Duke of Rutland's family.

The wedding was attended by notable figures from high society, including Lady Tatiana Mountbatten and Lady Sabrina Percy.
