Lady Gaga's Daughter Named Rose, Inspired by Iconic Song

Lady Gaga has named her newborn daughter Rose, a choice inspired by the iconic French song "La Vie En Rose," an insider revealed.

The Grammy-winning artist, whose real name is Stefani Germanotta, welcomed her daughter in June via surrogate. The song "La Vie En Rose" has a deep personal connection for Gaga; she famously covered the song in her 2018 film "A Star Is Born," where she starred alongside Bradley Cooper.

The film marked Gaga's acting debut and earned her an Academy Award. Cooper, who directed and starred in the movie, has spoken about how Gaga's performance of "La Vie En Rose" at a charity event in 2016 was instrumental in him casting her as the character Ally. He recalled being profoundly impressed by her rendition, stating it was "plutonium."

Interestingly, Gaga's now-husband, Michael Polansky, was also present at that same charity event, though they had not yet met. Polansky was involved with the event through his work with the Parker Foundation.

This is not the first time Gaga has expressed her affinity for "La Vie En Rose." She previously got a large tattoo of a rose with the song's title scripted beside it on her spine.

According to reports, Rose's middle name, Bean, may be a nod to activist Carl Bean, who inspired Gaga's song "Born This Way."

Lady Gaga and Polansky began dating in late 2019 and publicly confirmed their relationship in 2020. They reportedly became engaged in July 2024. Friends of the couple speculate they may have eloped.

The journey to motherhood has reportedly been challenging for Gaga, with sources indicating she faced "ups and downs" and a "hard road" of health struggles before welcoming her daughter. Despite these difficulties, the birth of their daughter is described as a "happy ending."

Both Gaga and Polansky have reportedly taken time off from work this summer to be with their new baby.
