Lady Gaga identified a secure and joyful upbringing for her future children as her foremost priority, even before the birth of her first child with fiancé Michael Polansky. The Grammy-winning artist shared this sentiment in a July 2025 appearance on "The Howard Stern Show," where she agreed with Stern's prediction that she would fully embrace motherhood.

"I just really want them to have a very safe and happy childhood, so you’re not wrong that that will become my No. 1 priority," Gaga, then 40, stated. She acknowledged that while her family would be her top focus, she was not yet certain if she would completely step back from the public eye.

"Disappear? I don’t think so," Gaga responded when asked about reducing her presence in the spotlight. She added that she would need to adapt based on her child's needs and her evolving life circumstances.

Page Six reported exclusively that Gaga and Polansky, 42, welcomed their first child. The couple, who were first linked in 2020, confirmed their engagement in July 2024.

Last week, the new family was publicly seen together for the first time in Northern California, Polansky's home region. The couple has reportedly taken time off work to spend the summer with their baby, allowing Gaga to implement her long-held priorities.

Gaga has previously expressed her desire for motherhood. In March 2025, she told The New York Times that she was "excited to be a mom" but had previously harbored "a lot of apprehension about it." In November 2025, she told Rolling Stone that "Being a mom is the thing I want the most," and that she and Polansky were "both really excited" about starting a family, with Polansky poised to be "a beautiful father."
