Lady Gaga is adjusting to life as a new mother, focusing on creating a private and normal environment for her four-month-old daughter, Rose.
The singer, 40, recently shared an Instagram video showcasing her home makeup routine, offering a peek into her life away from the public eye. In the clip, set to classical music, she meticulously applied makeup, changing outfits from a pink sweater to a blue tank top and shorts, before ending in a brown knit sweater with sunglasses.
She captioned the post 'home glam,' and her blonde hair was pulled back in a ponytail. The social media post was shared with her 61.1 million followers.
Gaga and her fiancé, Michael Polansky, 43, welcomed their daughter, Rose Bean Polansky, via surrogate on June 9. Since her daughter's birth, Gaga has reportedly retreated to a private home in Marin County, California, embracing a quiet life.
Sources close to the couple indicate they are enjoying their "little family bubble" and have started taking Rose on outings while maintaining a high level of privacy. Gaga is described as fiercely protective of her daughter and selective about who enters their inner circle.
This emphasis on privacy stems from Gaga's strong desire for her daughter to experience a "normal childhood," away from the intense scrutiny that comes with her fame. "She wants Rose to have as normal a childhood as possible, away from all the attention that comes with her fame," a source told Page Six.
Motherhood has reportedly brought out a "soft, emotional side" in the artist, who has prioritized family "family comes first" after two decades in the industry. "She's loving the quieter moments at home and just getting to spend time with her daughter," the source added.
Gaga, born Stefani Germanotta, has long expressed her desire to become a mother. In an October 2025 appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, she stated, "I would like to do many things. All of these things are open. But what I really want is to be a mom. That's my next starring role, I hope." She echoed these sentiments in a March 2020 interview with InStyle, expressing excitement about motherhood.
She and Polansky, who were first linked in 2020, have discussed raising their children to be independent. "I would want my children to understand that whatever my artistry means to them is totally up to them," Gaga told ELLE. "I would never actually want to shape it or tell them how to think about me."
