LA Woman Terrified After Peeping Tom Caught on Camera While She Tried on Halloween Costume

A Loyola Marymount University student expressed fear and a sense of violation after surveillance footage revealed a man watching her as she tried on a Halloween costume. The incident occurred on October 9th when Talia Behrens, 21, returned home and noticed her outdoor floodlight had been triggered.

Behrens received a text message from a neighbor stating that a man had been observed staring at her window for several minutes. Surveillance footage confirmed the account, showing a man in a gray long-sleeve shirt and a white cap scaling a fence and moving between windows around 8:30 p.m. The Los Angeles Police Department was contacted, but the suspect had already fled the scene. A community alert has since been distributed.

Authorities described the suspect as a bow-legged 58-year-old male, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing 210 pounds. He is known to drive a gold 2002 GMC Yukon, which has occasionally been seen with a trailer.

Behrens, who resides in the Westchester neighborhood, stated that this was not the first time the individual had been seen in the area, which is frequented by LMU students. She recalled a previous incident on her street where a similar man allegedly entered a backyard, broke a glass door, and was subsequently arrested.

"I’ve never felt like that before. I’ve never felt that violated," Behrens told KTLA. She has reported experiencing difficulty sleeping since the event and, along with friends, has begun distributing flyers to warn others. The group has also taken precautionary measures, acquiring baseball bats, hockey sticks, and bear spray.

The LAPD urged residents to remain vigilant, advising them to lock doors and windows, keep exterior lights on, and report any suspicious activity.
