Los Angeles County officials are reviewing voter registration records after allegations surfaced that several Hollywood celebrities may have improperly used a business address as their registered voting address instead of their actual residences.

According to reports, 36 voters were linked to an address at Suite 600 of a building on Sunset Boulevard that serves as the office for financial adviser Michael Ullman and his firm, Platinum Financial Management. Celebrities named in the report include Jennifer Aniston, Jenna Dewan, Nicollette Sheridan, Katheryn Winnick, Laura Harrier, Matt Czuchry, Debbie Gibson, and Hamish Linklater.

The registrations reportedly listed the office address as a residence, not merely a mailing address. This practice could potentially constitute perjury if the address was not their actual place of domicile and could affect the jurisdiction in which they vote.

A spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk stated that California law requires voters to register at the address they identify as their domicile or residence. However, the spokesperson also noted that a voter registration application cannot be rejected solely because the provided address appears to be a business or non-traditional residential location, as long as the application otherwise meets legal requirements.

"If a voter attests under penalty of perjury that an address constitutes their residence or domicile, and the registration otherwise meets legal requirements, the registration must be processed," the spokesperson said. County officials confirmed they were "reviewing these records based on the query received to assess whether those protocols are applicable."

Michael Ullman, the financial adviser associated with the office address, acknowledged that some celebrity clients used the office for mail purposes but disputed claims that they resided there. "They don’t live here. It’s just a mailing address, but it’s not their residential address. So it gets mailed here, but they voted in their area," Ullman told The Post.

The Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk's office also stated that the presence of multiple voter registrations at a single address does not, by itself, indicate an issue with the registration process. However, they have protocols in place to review and seek confirmation when there are representations that voters may be registered at a non-residential address.

An FAQ page on the county registrar's website clarifies that a person may only register to vote at their place of residence, and a business address or P.O. Box can only be used as a mailing address. The report indicated that none of the 36 individuals associated with the Sunset Boulevard office appeared to have confidentiality exemptions that would shield their home addresses from public records. The California Post has not independently verified the voter registration records cited in the reports.
