LA Clippers Host Addresses Viral "Fart" Controversy
In-arena host Hannah Cormier denies the incident, stating the sound was added to the clip.
Los Angeles Clippers in-arena host and MC Hannah Cormier has spoken out to deny allegations that she passed gas during a recent game, a moment that quickly went viral on social media.
A clip circulating online appeared to capture a distinct sound resembling flatulence as Cormier walked off camera. The video sparked widespread debate and speculation.
In an exclusive statement to the California Post, Cormier stated, "All stars are made of gas, but I’m innocent." She explained that the sound in the viral video was not her own but was added by the user who posted the clip, intending to enhance the content.
Cormier further addressed the situation on her Instagram, where she reiterated her innocence. "They say any press is good press. I didn’t fart!" she said in a video, referencing the attention the clip had garnered. She also expressed concern that her denials might be misconstrued as guilt. "But I know that if you denied it, you supplied it. I really didn’t! That honestly sound like a whoopee cushion fart. Now I’m seeming guilty."
Cormier, who is entering her 11th season with the Clippers organization and her seventh as the in-arena host and MC, is credited by the outlet for handling the situation with composure. The sound in question, as she noted, does bear a resemblance to a sound effect rather than an actual occurrence.
