L7 bassist Jennifer Finch, 59, has publicly shared her diagnosis of aggressive brain cancer, detailing the extensive medical care and rehabilitation she requires. Her bandmates announced the news on Monday, simultaneously launching a GoFundMe to assist with the mounting costs of her treatment, which has already involved multiple surgeries and serious complications.

The fundraiser aims to reach $350,000 to cover the extensive medical care, rehabilitation, and in-home support Finch now needs. Her friends and bandmates stated in the GoFundMe description that "the level of care Jennifer needs has gone beyond what friends and family can safely provide around the clock." They added that Finch "may have more good days behind her than ahead."

Finch had initially hoped that treatment, including radiation, would help her return to a semblance of normal life. However, she has encountered a "string of difficult setbacks" and is experiencing "significant physical limitations." The GoFundMe also shared a photo of Finch smiling in the hospital, revealing a scar from brain surgery.

The musician's loved ones are seeking support to ensure the time Finch has left is "as comfortable, meaningful, and full of love as possible." They emphasized that the cost of providing her with the best possible care is overwhelming but essential for her comfort, dignity, and independence.

As of Wednesday morning, the GoFundMe had raised nearly $300,000. Notable donors include "Yellowjackets" star Melanie Lynskey. L7 posted a statement on Instagram expressing gratitude for the global outpouring of support for Finch, a founding member of the band who joined in 1986. She left the group a decade later, before their initial breakup, and rejoined when L7 reformed in 2014. Finch had been expected to participate in a "Last Hurrah" tour this year, a plan made when she was reportedly in good health.
