Kylie Minogue Rehearses for AFL Grand Final at Daring Heights
The Australian pop icon, 58, showcased remarkable energy and multiple costumes during a death-defying dress rehearsal for her upcoming performance at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
Kylie Minogue, 58, demonstrated a high level of energy during a full dress rehearsal for the AFL Grand Final at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Thursday.
The Australian pop star performed at dramatic heights, elevated on a podium high above the stadium, secured by a safety harness. She engaged in an energetic song and dance routine during the rehearsal.
Minogue donned several outfits for the rehearsal. One ensemble featured a corset paired with a sheer, flowing skirt with a high split. Another look consisted of a distressed shirt dress worn with metallic knee-high boots and fishnet stockings. She later changed into a second distressed shirt dress, this one emblazoned with the words 'I'm home' across the front.
Minogue, who grew up in Melbourne, is set to perform before a sell-out crowd of 100,000 at the MCG on September 26. Her 20-minute performance is anticipated to earn her approximately $3 million, according to reports by New Idea. The AFL had previously confirmed Minogue was on their 'wish list' for a performance.
Kylie Minogue's youthful appearance has been noted previously, including around her 58th birthday in May, when she celebrated in London. The singer recently released a three-part Netflix documentary, "Kylie: Closer Than Ever Before," which garnered 2.1 million views in its first week. In the documentary, she revealed she had battled cancer twice, sharing her experiences with a diagnosis in early 2021 and her earlier breast cancer diagnosis in 2005, for which she underwent chemotherapy and a lumpectomy.
Minogue has been publicly single since ending a five-year relationship with British GQ creative director Paul Solomons in 2023. Her past relationships include those with Jason Donovan, Michael Hutchence, Olivier Martinez, Andrés Velencoso, and Joshua Sasse.
