The outing followed Jenner's participation in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show on Sunday, where she modeled the brand's $50 million Fantasy Bra. The bra features a $22 million yellow diamond centerpiece and 4,410 natural diamonds. It was the first time the Fantasy Bra had been featured on the runway since 2018, and Jenner was the first non-Angel to wear it.
Jenner's appearance in the bra drew criticism from some viewers, who called for the show's cancellation. Critics expressed that casting Jenner, a reality television star and businesswoman, to wear the iconic piece was a misstep for the brand. Adrianne Curry, winner of the first season of America's Next Top Model, stated that Jenner "is not a f***ing model" and does not have "a model's body."
Victoria's Secret creative director Adam Selman defended the decision, telling Vogue that Jenner's influence extends beyond fashion and culture. He explained that the show's theme was "fandomonium," and that pairing the Fantasy Bra with an "unexpected talent who has a massive following and massive cultural impact" was a way to "celebrate in a different way that people aren’t going to expect."
