Kyle Tucker Removed From Dodgers Lineup Amid Injury Concerns

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Kyle Tucker was absent from the team's lineup on Sunday, a day after he left Saturday's game early due to a foul ball that struck his right knee.

Tucker sustained the injury in the third inning on Saturday when a pitch deflected off his shin guard. He initially remained in the game, drawing a walk and scoring a run in the fifth inning before being removed in the seventh inning of the Dodgers' 10-4 victory over the San Francisco Giants. Manager Dave Roberts had stated after Saturday's game that Tucker's removal was precautionary, depending on how the injury progressed.

Despite being held out of Sunday's series finale, Tucker expressed optimism that the injury would not cause lasting issues. "I feel fine," he stated on Sunday, adding that the team decided to give him the day off given the score of Saturday's game.

This incident draws parallels to a similar injury Tucker experienced in 2024, when a foul ball resulted in a right shin fracture that sidelined him for three months. However, Tucker noted that this impact was in a different area of his leg and downplayed its potential severity.

The timing of the injury concern comes as Tucker has shown a resurgence in his performance. Over his last 10 games, the outfielder has hit .429 (15-for-35) with five home runs, nine extra-base hits, and 11 RBIs. This recent performance marks a significant turnaround for the player who signed a $240 million contract.
