Radio host Kyle Sandilands was unable to host his subscriber-only broadcast on Tuesday morning, withdrawing from the show moments before it was set to go live due to undisclosed health issues. Newsreader Brooklyn Ross stepped in to host the program after Sandilands left the building.
Executive Producer Jaimee 'Mayo' Blazquez noted Sandilands appeared unwell, stating he was "more quiet" and looked "really pale, like he was going to pass out." Sandilands' manager, Bruno Bouchet, also commented that the presenter had been feeling "out of sorts" since a weekend meet-and-greet event, which had taken a toll on him.
This withdrawal comes shortly after Sandilands revealed on his subscriber show that a brain aneurysm, diagnosed last year, had grown. He shared that the aneurysm had increased in size by an additional millimeter, a development he found discouraging. Sandilands expressed a desire to avoid surgery, noting that doctors deemed the procedure riskier than monitoring the aneurysm. He reflected on his lifestyle, suggesting it may have contributed to his current health situation and voiced his reluctance to undergo invasive procedures or face mortality.
Sandilands first disclosed his health condition in February of the previous year, reporting a four-millimeter brain aneurysm. He also mentioned a second aneurysm in his chest at the time, though it was not immediately operable. In January, Sandilands had indicated that medical check-ups suggested the aneurysms had stabilized, with doctors reporting positive outlooks and a low chance of complications from surgery, which he described as potentially requiring extensive facial surgery. However, the recent update indicates continued growth of the brain aneurysm.
Sandilands previously detailed the initial discovery of the brain aneurysm, stating that doctors had warned him of potentially fatal consequences if it were not addressed promptly. He attributed his health issues partly to past lifestyle choices, including cocaine abuse and heavy partying.
