Radio host Kyle Sandilands has voiced suspicions about individuals he believes may have influenced his former co-host, Jackie 'O' Henderson, leading to the end of their prominent radio partnership. In an exclusive interview with the Daily Mail, Sandilands suggested that external opinions, particularly from Henderson's circle of friends, might have played a role as their professional relationship deteriorated.
Sandilands referred to Henderson's newer acquaintances, a group of Sydney socialites he playfully calls the "Woo Woo Crew" and the "Pyjama Squad," as potential influencers. He noted that these friends, while seemingly pleasant, could have "gotten in her ear." Sandilands explained that individuals outside the radio industry might not grasp the performative nature of their show, which he described as a "sitcom" where personalities were amplified for entertainment.
He elaborated that their on-air dynamic thrived on disagreement, particularly concerning Henderson's interest in spirituality and wellness practices. Sandilands expressed his personal skepticism towards such interests, jokingly referring to them as "rubbish," but acknowledged that this contrast was part of their show's appeal. He mentioned that while he engages with these topics, his approach involves questioning their validity, a sentiment he believes many listeners might share.
Among Henderson's close friends is Pip Edwards, founder of P.E. Nation. Edwards has publicly shared her engagement with new-age practices, including tarot readings, crystals, and energy healing. She is known to frequent Venustus, a Sydney wellness studio offering services like crystal healing and sound healing, which promotes rebalancing physical, emotional, and energetic states. Images shared by Edwards have shown her participating in these activities, sometimes with Henderson or her son.
Sandilands clarified that he has no personal issue with Edwards, having met her and found her to be amiable. He also revealed that Henderson had dated several individuals privately, and he had offered her his opinions on these relationships, which he claimed ended as he predicted.
However, Sandilands emphasized that he has no concrete evidence that any friend or partner directly caused the breakdown of their professional relationship. "Whether any of them were in their ear, I'm really - I really have no idea," he stated.
Henderson's interest in alternative wellness is documented. She has been observed reading spiritual books on beaches, participating in healing sessions in Bali, and incorporating tarot card readers at her birthday celebrations. Recently, before the announcement of her departure from the show, Henderson attended a "sound medicine" class focused on awakening inner fire, described as a "shamanic journey."
