Kyle Sandilands was served a subpoena live on air during his subscription show, drawing him into the escalating legal conflict between ARN and his former radio partner, Jackie 'O' Henderson. The media giant is seeking documents from Sandilands as part of its legal proceedings against Henderson.
During the broadcast, Sandilands' manager, Bruno Bouchet, presented him with the subpoena and a notice to produce documents, a moment Sandilands appeared to find surprising. "I'm very uncomfortable about that," Sandilands stated, before discarding the notice. When asked if ARN was seeking his support against Henderson, Bouchet confirmed the network was after documents from the radio star.
Sandilands expressed his discomfort, saying, "I don't feel comfortable saying anything that may affect what she's got going on." He added, "Well, that makes me very uncomfortable."
The development follows Sandilands' public revelation that he was distressed upon learning Henderson had been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder. This diagnosis was detailed in a medical report by Dr. Jonathan Phillips as part of Henderson's lawsuit against ARN, where she is seeking $82 million in damages following the cancellation of their show earlier this year.
According to Dr. Phillips' report, Henderson is suffering from PTSD stemming from "as a result of 'the ongoing bullying perpetrated by Sandilands' and 'the failure of ARN to offer appropriate care and protection'." Henderson, in a sworn statement, described feeling "belittled" and "humiliated" by Sandilands' "unpredictable and erratic" behavior, which she characterized as bullying. She stated that his alleged treatment worsened from 2023 onward, causing anxiety and a feeling of emotional unsafety in the workplace.
Sandilands, however, has disputed the allegations contained in court documents, stating they bore little resemblance to his recollection of events and had deeply hurt him. "It was really very, very, very upsetting to read some terrible things like that about yourself. And obviously, it's her truth. But that is so against what the reality of what happened was," he said. He described Henderson's behavior during their time on the "Kyle & Jackie O" show as unpredictable and inconsistent, adding, "It's very unfair, and it's completely the opposite."
