Kyle Sandilands Faces Court Over $5 Million Estate Dispute

Radio personality Kyle Sandilands is involved in a legal dispute with builders over renovations at his $5 million country estate in Glenorie, New South Wales. Alter Build Co Pty Ltd, a Sydney-based construction company, has filed a civil Statement of Claim against Sandilands in the NSW District Court, with a hearing scheduled for later this month.

Sandilands reportedly owes $200,000 to the builders. He told A Current Affair that the bills for the renovation work continued to arrive, stating, "I'm not the state government where I just keep f***ing paying bills and paying bills." He indicated that while they had paid approximately $1.6 million, further bills followed. Sandilands described the issue as a minor inconvenience and expressed confidence that a judge would resolve the differing perspectives of both parties. "If I'm in the wrong, I'm happy to pay but if I'm not then I'm not paying," he added.

Despite the ongoing legal challenge, Sandilands asserted that his subscription-only podcast, Kyle Sandilands Live, is financially viable, even with an estimated 55,000 listeners. "Well, I could be always happier, but yeah, it's going really well. It's paying for itself and paying for the staff," he stated.

Alter Build Co. declined to comment on the case, which is set to be heard at the Downing Centre District Court on October 23. Court documents suggest the claim relates to goods and services connected to the renovation of the Glenorie property.

Sandilands purchased the Glenorie estate, known as Kingsview Estate, for $3 million in 2022. The property, situated on a 9,580sqm block in Sydney's semi-rural northwest, features a six-bedroom, five-bathroom Georgian-style house. The property was previously a gutted 1970s house, replaced by the current structure which Sandilands has described as being in the style of Elvis Presley's Graceland mansion. He and his wife, Tegan Kynaston, welcomed their son, Otto, shortly before purchasing the estate.

Last year, Sandilands settled a Federal Court case with ARN for nearly $14 million, following remarks he made about his former co-host Jackie O' Henderson. This settlement included a cash payment exceeding $12 million and advertising services valued at $1.5 million. Sandilands also took out a $2 million mortgage on the Glenorie property, reportedly with interest rates exceeding 17 percent.
