Kyle Sandilands' Estate Faces Lawsuit Over Renovations Amid Unsold Status

A civil lawsuit has been filed against media personality Kyle Sandilands by the luxury builders who renovated his country estate, which remains unsold despite a price reduction. Alter Build Co Pty Ltd, a Sydney-based construction company, has lodged a Statement of Claim against Sandilands in the NSW District Court. The court filing pertains to goods and services reportedly connected to renovation work undertaken at Sandilands' Glenorie property.

Located in Sydney's semi-rural north-west on a 9,580sqm block, the property, known as Kingsview Estate, features six bedrooms and five bathrooms. Sandilands purchased the estate for $3 million in 2022, shortly before the birth of his first child, Otto, with his wife Tegan Kynaston. This period followed a significant contract renewal for Sandilands and his then-on-air co-host Jackie 'O' Henderson with KIIS FM.

Sandilands' arrangement with KIIS FM concluded in March when he was suspended and subsequently terminated by parent company ARN, following remarks made about Henderson. In June, he settled Federal Court proceedings with ARN for approximately $14 million, which included a cash settlement exceeding $12 million and advertising services valued at $1.5 million.

The Glenorie estate is secured by a $2 million mortgage obtained by Sandilands through Mortgage Holdings Group, reportedly with an interest rate exceeding 17 percent. The property was developed by Alter Build Co, a company with two decades of experience, headed by Andrew Kabourakis and William Teixeira. They undertook renovation projects on the site, which previously housed a 1970s house. The completed residence is a two-storey Georgian-style home with a circular driveway and porte-cochère.

Initially, Sandilands listed the property with a price expectation between $5.7 million and $5.9 million. This guide was later reduced to $4.9 million. The estate is believed to still be on the market. The Daily Mail has reached out to Alter Build, its principals, and Sandilands for comment. The case is scheduled to be heard at the Downing Centre District Court later this month.
