Kyle Richards became visibly emotional while discussing a message from her estranged husband, Mauricio Umansky, on their 30th wedding anniversary. The moment occurred in a preview for an upcoming episode of Bravo's Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Roaring 20th.

In a clip, Richards confided in co-star Vicki Gunvalson, "I'm just having a moment." She explained, "Today's my 30-year anniversary. It makes me sad." Richards revealed that Umansky sent her a text message that prompted her tears. "He said today's always such a hard day and I love you. He said I don't know how we got here," Richards recounted.

"I thought we were stronger than that. I really had thought that," Richards lamented, referring to her marriage. The couple announced their separation three years prior.

Gunvalson, who has also gone through a divorce, expressed sympathy for Richards in a confessional interview. "My heart is breaking for Kyle because they've got everything everyone is looking for and 30 years of marriage, all of a sudden it's dissolving," Gunvalson said.

Richards shared that the most painful aspect of their public breakup has been the impact on fans. "The thing that bothered me the most, honestly, was people saying that we gave them hope that true love existed," Richards stated. "And now, that went out the window for them. But I understand people thinking like that."

Gunvalson offered a different perspective to Richards during the emotional exchange. "You let your family down. You let your kids down. You're showing them it's okay to bail out when things get tough. It's not okay," Gunvalson told her friend. "For me, you guys were the epitome of staying together forever. You're supposed to grow old together, you're supposed to do life together, [have] grandkids."

Richards and Umansky are parents to daughters Farrah, 37, Alexia, 30, Sophia, 26, and Portia, 18. Umansky has reportedly been linked to other women since the separation.

In June, Richards and Umansky reunited at their daughter Portia's high school graduation. Umansky previously told People that his daughters' advice regarding his love life has been, "Dad, we want you to be happy. We want you to enjoy yourself, but be age-appropriate."
