Kyle Juszczyk Urges DeForest Buckner to 'Come Home' to 49ers

San Francisco 49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk has publicly appealed to Indianapolis Colts defensive tackle DeForest Buckner to return to the 49ers. Juszczyk's comment, made on Instagram, surfaced after Buckner expressed frustration with the Colts' ongoing struggles and a 2-4 record following a recent loss.

Buckner, a former 49ers star, stated his exasperation with the team's recurring performance issues. "I mean, I’m sick and tired of the same song and dance every year," he said postgame. This sentiment comes after the Colts fell to the previously winless Tennessee Titans, extending their postseason drought since the 2020 season.

Juszczyk, who played alongside Buckner in San Francisco for three seasons from 2017 to 2019, responded to a clip of Buckner's comments on Instagram with the simple plea, "Come home @dbuck_99". The 49ers originally drafted Buckner, now 32, as the No. 7 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. He spent his first four seasons with the team before signing with the Colts in free agency.

The 49ers have recently been active in pursuing potential roster improvements, with teammate George Kittle vocally advocating for the team to acquire Los Angeles Chargers edge rusher Khalil Mack. However, a move for Buckner might present a more feasible option, given his familiarity with the 49ers' system and his apparent desire to leave Indianapolis.
