Samantha Busch addressed the public grief and her continued dedication to charitable work for the first time since the passing of her husband, NASCAR legend Kyle Busch, three months ago. Speaking at the Carlos Rodón Foundation’s Third Annual Willow Gala on Monday, where she received the Seeds of Hope Award, Busch described her husband’s death as the "greatest heartbreak of my life."
"If I’m being truthful, there are still so many things I don’t understand and so many times I wish God’s plan looked different than it does," she said at the event. Busch acknowledged the weight of continuing the work they started together, noting, "Caring for the things that Kyle and I built together can feel incredibly heavy because he should still be here doing it beside me."
However, she also expressed a sense of continued divine support, stating, "But I also know that the same God who carried us through infertility is still carrying me now."
Her remarks focused on The Bundle of Joy Fund, the foundation established by her and Kyle. This organization provides financial assistance to couples facing infertility and covers costs associated with IVF treatments. Samantha Busch shared that the foundation offers her a tangible connection to her late husband, stating, "Every grant we give, every positive pregnancy test, every heartbeat, every baby placed into the arms of parents who wondered if that moment would ever come, Kyle is still a part of that."
She concluded her address by expressing hope that honoring Kyle's memory through the foundation would allow more couples to experience the joy of parenthood, a gift she and Kyle treasured. Kyle Busch died from complications of severe pneumonia, which led to sepsis and subsequent rapid, overwhelming associated complications, according to his family.
His legacy continues through Samantha, their two children, and his brother, Kurt Busch.
