"I can't begin to imagine what his family and loved ones are going through. My heart is with them, and with RJ," Ritter wrote, reposting a tribute from "Breaking Bad" lead Bryan Cranston.
Cranston, who played Mitte's onscreen father, Walter White, expressed his "deep despair" over the loss. "I don't know if that lunch would have changed his future," Cranston posted on Instagram, referring to a planned meeting with Mitte. "I do know that I loved him, and thoroughly enjoyed being with him throughout the years on the series."
Cranston also shared a suicide prevention hotline number, urging those struggling to seek help.
Mitte appeared in 56 episodes of "Breaking Bad" from 2008 to 2013. Diagnosed with cerebral palsy at age three, he became a vocal advocate for actors and individuals with disabilities in the entertainment industry. His representative confirmed his death, stating, "RJ Mitte was best known for his role as Walter 'Flynn' White Jr on AMC’s critically acclaimed, award-winning series Breaking Bad. Drawing from his own experience living with cerebral palsy, Mitte brought authenticity to the role and built a platform on disability awareness and inclusion."
