Kristaps Porzingis Addresses Health Concerns, Denies HIV/AIDS Rumors

Golden State Warriors center Kristaps Porzingis has publicly addressed his ongoing absence from the team due to an undisclosed health matter, taking to social media to provide an update and dispel rumors. Porzingis has been sidelined throughout the Warriors' training camp and preseason contests.

In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Porzingis stated, "I’m working with doctors and experts to figure out how to be fully back to good health asap. Honestly, I’m getting better and better. I just have to stay patient, and I believe I’ll be feeling great again soon." He acknowledged the frustration of dealing with an "obscure matter" that has been difficult to pinpoint, especially given his history of injuries.

Porzingis also directly addressed speculation circulating online, specifically mentioning rumors that he has contracted HIV or AIDS. "I appreciate all the internet doctors trying to diagnose and help, but I’m in the best hands," he wrote. "So everyone can relax now 😄🙏🏼 and I don’t have hiv or aids."

The Warriors signed Porzingis to a $40 million extension in the offseason and were aware of the health issue at the time. The team has maintained a tight-lipped approach regarding his condition, with head coach Steve Kerr offering limited updates. Porzingis's indefinite absence places his availability for the start of the regular season in question.
