Kris Jenner Reportedly 'Flipped Out' Over Past Affair Mention in Kim Kardashian Biography
The reality television matriarch expressed dismay upon learning her decades-old infidelity was included in an upcoming book about her daughter.
Kris Jenner allegedly experienced a strong negative reaction, "flipping out on camera," after discovering that a past extramarital affair was detailed in a new biography about her daughter, Kim Kardashian.
According to Jonathan Van Meter, the author of "Citizen Kim: The Woman Who Created the Future," Kardashian informed him during a phone call that her sister Khloé had relayed Jenner's outburst. Van Meter recounted that Jenner was heard exclaiming, "Why did Kim drag us all into this? Why is my affair from 30 years ago in the book?"
Van Meter stated that Jenner's distress appeared to be temporary, as she was reportedly "fine" two days later. The author also indicated that the incident would be featured in the family's Hulu series, "The Kardashians."
Kardashian reportedly defended the inclusion of personal details in the biography to her mother, saying, "All this stuff gets written about us, and then a guy comes along who gets us and wants to explain us. Why wouldn’t you want that?"
While Van Meter's book does not explicitly name individuals involved in the affair, Kris Jenner publicly disclosed in 2011 that she had an extramarital relationship with Todd Waterman in 1989, during her marriage to the late Robert Kardashian. She has since expressed regret over the months-long affair, calling it her "life's biggest regret" in a 2023 episode of "The Kardashians."
