Kris Jenner Owns Elizabeth Taylor's Scorpion Cape, Lent to Kim Kardashian for 'All's Fair'
The reality star donned the vintage velvet cape, previously worn by Taylor to a Scorpio-themed party, for the premiere of the Hulu series.
Kris Jenner wore Elizabeth Taylor’s historic scorpion cape to the “All’s Fair” Season 2 premiere in Rome, with her daughter Kim Kardashian revealing that the cape was lent to her for the show.
Jenner, 70, appeared at the premiere event wrapped in the velvet cape adorned with crystal scorpion appliqués. The piece was previously seen on Kim Kardashian in the Season 2 trailer for the Hulu legal drama.
"My mom… graciously let me wear it in All’s Fair,” Kardashian, 46, stated on Instagram Stories after the premiere. "After Ryan Murphy heard the story of Elizabeth Taylor wearing it to Grace Kelly’s Scorpion Ball, naturally, he made sure to write an episode about Allura Grant throwing her own Scorpion Ball,” she added, referencing her character on the series, which is set to return on November 4.

The cape, created by Roman couture house Tiziani, features an ivory silk lining and is embellished with diamanté scorpions. Elizabeth Taylor originally wore the cape in 1969 to Princess Grace’s 40th birthday party in Monaco, an event themed around the Scorpio zodiac sign. Jenner, whose birthday is November 5, also shares the Scorpio sign.
Taylor famously paired the cape with the 69.42-carat Taylor-Burton Diamond, a gift from then-husband Richard Burton. In the trailer for "All's Fair," Kardashian echoes this pairing, accessorizing the cape with over $2.7 million in Leviev diamonds.
Jenner acquired the cape at an auction. It was last publicly sold at Christie’s in 2011 for $74,500 as part of a sale of Taylor’s personal collection. The cape also makes an appearance on Sarah Paulson’s character, Carrington Lane, in the show’s trailer.
For the premiere, Jenner styled the cape with white gloves, a diamond lariat necklace, and diamond shooting star earrings.
