Knott's Berry Farm is preparing for a possible unsanctioned teen gathering and takeover this Saturday, as law enforcement agencies work to prevent disruptions. Buena Park police stated they are aware of a planned event at the amusement park and have been working with park officials and public safety partners to identify those organizing the unauthorized gathering.

"The safety of our community, park guests, and employees remain our highest priority," police said in a Facebook post. "We will have an increased law enforcement presence and will take appropriate enforcement action against anyone who engages in criminal or disruptive behavior."

The potential takeover at Knott's Berry Farm is expected to mirror recent events in Newport Beach, where a large, unsanctioned gathering led to over 400 arrests, with a majority being minors. Videos from the Newport Beach incident showed fireworks being set off near crowds, vandalism, and looting at a local grocery store. Authorities reported instances of individuals climbing traffic signals and inciting crowd chants.

Law enforcement is also attempting to deter another planned "beach takeover" event, advertised as a "Beach Bash," in Huntington Beach for Saturday. Huntington Beach Police have stated they are identifying individuals involved in organizing and promoting this event and may pursue prosecution. Charges for participants could include incitement to riot, vandalism, theft, assault, reckless driving, unlawful assembly, and conspiracy.

Knott's Berry Farm has previously experienced disruptive behavior from younger visitors. In response, the park implemented a policy in 2023 requiring individuals aged 15 and younger to be accompanied by an adult of at least 21 years of age to enter or remain in the park after 4 p.m. Those found without a chaperone are subject to removal.
