A dispute at a Wendy's in Northridge, Los Angeles, escalated into a violent confrontation involving a knife and chairs, resulting in the arrest of one individual.
The incident occurred Wednesday when a man, reportedly armed with a knife, was confronted by another customer. Video footage captured the man in a baseball cap shouting threats at the knife-wielding individual, who was seated at a table.
"You gonna stab me? I'll kill you dawg. Let's go," the man in the hat was heard saying in the video. He then allegedly grabbed a chair and threatened to use it. Restaurant employees attempted to de-escalate the situation, with the man in the hat responding, "He pulled a knife on me."
The situation intensified as the armed customer also grabbed a chair, leading to both men throwing furniture at each other within the restaurant.
Outside the establishment, the man who had been holding the knife was heard saying, "My finger split the f–k open. I’m pressing charges, you f–king piece of s–t." He was subsequently detained by authorities.
Witnesses indicated that the man in the baseball cap may have initiated the confrontation by arguing with restaurant employees before approaching the seated diner. "The customer was still talking to the employees, arguing with them. And then that’s when he decided to come up to the couple that was minding their own business, eating their breakfast. And he got into the guy that was eating his breakfast; he got into that guy’s face," witness Jesus Lepit told KTLA 5.
This incident follows a similar event in Lake Elsinore where a young man used a spatula to fend off a customer wielding a stick at an In-N-Out.
